The dramas at the Beit Lessin Theater do not end.
Against the background of the freeze on activities for the past two weeks, this morning (Tuesday) the actors' organization "Shaham" announced a labor dispute with the theater.
For two weeks now, the China House Theater has not been functioning due to the failure of negotiations between the technical staff and the management, which means that during the period the actors and actresses do not receive their salaries.
"For many days now, the actors and actresses have been announcing daily cancellations of performances in the immediate term without any financial compensation and without any notice. All this while Tzipi Pines, the theater's director, is abroad and is not in contact with them at all," Shaham claims.
Avi Ben Hillel, director general of the Actors' Association, added: "The situation at the Beit Lessin Theater is unacceptable.
Gone are the days when players are the last to have their voices heard.
The actors and actresses are the theater and without them it has no right to exist.
We will work with all our might to sign a collective agreement and find a solution to compensate the actresses for the dozens of cancellations of the plays in the recent period. "
