The developer and curator of Illustration Week, Yuval Saar, told Israel Today: "From day one, Illustration Week was supported by the Tel Aviv Municipality's culture department, in 2020 they supported it for the last time and last year the municipality's spokesperson department supported a week held in the south. This year the Culture Department announced that they would not support Illustration Week, and we tried to find another municipal factor - mainly to solve the insurance problem of hundreds of participants - but we did not find a body that would insure such an unusual event that dominates some places in the city. "

The Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality stated: "Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality sees Illustration Week as an important art event and we are happy to contribute to its transformation from an idea to implementation and cooperation with it for eight years.
