“He left like in 14!” : how Luc Besson discreetly returns to the cinematographic landscape


Since the release of "Anna" in July 2019, the director of "Big Blue" has experienced legal setbacks and sold his production company

"We must not bury him alive", had whispered to us an ex-collaborator in August 2019. The fall of Luc Besson had, however, then, the appearance of a descent into hell.

He who had made French cinema shine abroad, signing with "Lucy" the biggest hexagonal success of all time internationally, had just suffered the critical and commercial failure of "Anna", a thriller putting stage a killer Russian doll.

His production company EuropaCorp was put up for sale.

He was the subject of a rape complaint and accused of inappropriate sexual behavior by eight other women in Mediapart investigations.

And, in the United States, where this last film was released on the sly, his career seemed to be at an impasse.
