Draghi, there is no risk of escalation but we must be ready

(ANSA) - ROME, June 29 - "There is no risk of an escalation, but we must be ready. To date there is no risk of escalation" with Russia.

Prime Minister Mario Draghi said this when answering journalists' questions on the US military strengthening in Europe and also in Italy.

Draghi added that 70 military personnel and an air defense system will be the new forces that the US will deploy in Italy.

"The defense minister explained to me that this is a settlement already planned", added Draghi, saying he does not believe that there is "the risk of an escalation" with Russia.
