The heat and extreme heat on the main Italian cities worsen.

On the day of June 30, the cities with a red dot for heat waves will rise to 22: Ancona, Bari, Bologna, Cagliari, Campobasso, Catania, Civitavecchia, Florence, Frosinone, Genoa, Latina, Messina, Naples, Palermo, Perugia, Pescara, Reggio Calabria, Rieti, Rome, Trieste, Venice, Verona, Viterbo.

While 2 others will have the orange sticker (Milan and Brescia) and 3 yellow (Bolzano, Genoa and Turin).

This is indicated by the bulletins of the Ministry of Health on heat waves, which monitor 27 provincial capitals.

It is a worsening that began on Monday, when there were 2 cities with a red dot, while 23 with the orange and 2 yellow ones, and which continued yesterday, in which the cities with an orange dot were 9, those with a yellow dot 5 and those with red dot 13 (and will remain on maximum alert for 29 and 30 June) or: Cagliari, Campobasso, Civitavecchia, Florence, Frosinone, Latina, Messina, Naples, Palermo, Perugia, Reggio Calabria, Rieti and Rome.

To these, on 29 June, Ancona Bari, Bologna, Catania, Pescara and Viterbo will also be added for a total of 19.

On the 30th, Trieste, Venice and Verona will be added to the previous cities with a red dot.

Bolzano, Genoa and Turin are the only 3 cities that will keep the yellow sticker in the three days considered.

The rest of Italy, on the other hand, remains in the grip of a torrid and growing heat.

Heat waves occur when very high temperatures occur for several consecutive days, often associated with high humidity, strong sunlight and no ventilation.

These climatic conditions, reminds the Ministry of Health, can represent a risk to the health of the population, especially vulnerable subjects, such as the elderly, the chronically ill, children, pregnant women.

Furthermore, in five northern regions (Friuli Venezia Giulia, Liguria, Lombardy, Trentino Alto Adige and Veneto), today there is a yellow alert for bad weather.

In addition to a whirlwind, the province of Massa Carrara was also hit yesterday by strong thunderstorms, with reported flooding.
