(ANSA) - TEL AVIV, 29 JUN - A Palestinian protester was killed this morning in fierce clashes with the Israeli army in Jenin, in the north of the West Bank.
This was reported by the local health ministry, quoted by the Wafa agency, which identified the person as Muhammad Maher Nafie Marei (25 years old) from the Jenin refugee camp.
The Israeli military spokesman explained that during an operation to arrest two Palestinians wanted in the refugee camp "the soldiers fired in the direction of several suspects who fired explosives at them".
