UAE Emirates: 'Trentin positive, Hirschi in his place'

The Italian Matteo Trentin will not be at the start of the Tour de France on Friday in Copenhagen, having tested positive in an anti-covid test.

This was announced by his team, UAE Emirates, informing that the completely asymptomatic rider will be replaced by Swiss Marc Hirschi.

    Trentin is the second among the members of the Grande Boucle to have to give up due to the virus, which yesterday hit Belgian Tim Declerq, from Quick Step.

UAE Emirates is the team of Tadej Pogacar, the Slovenian winner of the last two editions and given as favorite for a possible trio.
