US director Woody Allen fueled speculation about the possible end of his career with an interview.
"I'll probably do at least one more film," the 86-year-old said in a conversation with actor Alec Baldwin, which was published on his Instagram account.
"But most of the thrill is gone."
In the fall he was filming in Paris.
He will then see how it feels to stage again.
His films used to be seen in cinemas “all over the country”.
»Now you make a film and it's in a cinema for a couple of weeks.
Maybe six or four weeks and then it goes straight to streaming or pay-per-view.” It's not the same thing and he doesn't enjoy it that much.
Most recently, Allen himself shot a series for the Amazon Prime Video streaming service and signed a lucrative production deal with Amazon.
Prime Video canceled this when allegations against Allen for sexually molesting his adopted daughter were raised again.
Since then, the big Hollywood studios and production companies no longer want to finance his works.
His new film »Rifkin's Festival« was made largely with Spanish and Italian money.
The comedy about an aging director has so far only been shown in European cinemas, grossing just over $1.5 million there.
The film will also start in Germany on July 7th.
Alec Baldwin announced the interview with the director on Instagram two days earlier.
"Let me preface that I have no interest in the judgments and hypocritical contributions of others here," he wrote.
"If you think a trial should take the form of an HBO documentary, then that's your problem."
Farrow" had addressed allegations of abuse by Allen's adopted daughter Dylan Farrow against him in 2021.
Farrow accuses Allen of sexually harassing her in the early 1990s.
Allen denies that. In the almost hour-long interview, Baldwin, who worked with Allen on three films, did not address the issue.
