Numerous employees can look forward to the one-off fee of 300 euros.
The money is paid out by the employer as a salary subsidy.
As part of the traffic light relief package, a so-called
energy price flat rate – energy flat rate for short – of 300 euros is planned.
What does that mean specifically?
Every
employee
who is subject to income tax and who is sorted into tax classes 1-5 should receive the one-time gross lump sum of 300 euros, as reported by the German Press Agency (dpa).
The
money is paid out by the employer as a salary subsidy
,
for the self-employed the advance tax payment is reduced instead
.
The lump sum is subject to income tax.
If you have a high tax rate, you get less out of it in the end –
if you stay below the basic tax-free allowance, you benefit from the full amount
.
Energy flat rate: When does the money end up in the account?
"Employees who are subject to income tax, mini-jobbers who are subject to flat-rate taxation, tradespeople and the self-employed receive a one-off energy price flat rate of 300 euros," said the wage tax aid (Lohi) Bavaria (as of May 24th).
Employees should receive the lump sum together with the
wage payment in September
from their employer, as also reported by
kreiszeitung.de
.
"However, the payment date depends on the wage tax registration of the employer," the Lohi experts point out.
"The payment can therefore only be made in October or, in the worst case, with the income tax return next year."
Flat-rate energy price for pensioners or students with mini-jobs?
Retirees
do not receive the support – “unless they still have a mini-job in retirement,” as the Lohi statement goes on to say.
And students, for example, who also have a part-time job, can also benefit accordingly from the energy price flat rate.

Deadline for filing tax returns extended
Another innovation should interest many taxpayers:
those affected are given more time to submit their tax returns
.
Those who make their
declaration for 2021
alone have until
the end of October 2022
.
If you have a tax consultant, you don't even have to hand it in until the end of August 2023
.
The flat-rate income-related expenses allowance for employees will also be raised by EUR 200 to EUR 1,200 with retrospective effect from January 1st.
"Thus, the home office flat rate with a maximum of 600 euros, which will apply until the end of 2022, is even less important," says Lohi.
