Nearly a decade after appearing in her latest film and about four years after announcing her retirement from acting in favor of focusing on her family and her organic wine brand, Avaline, Cameron Diaz is back to star in a new film.
The actress, who will celebrate her 50th birthday at the end of August, is expected to appear alongside Jamie Foxx in the action comedy Back In Action, which will be produced by Netflix and her photos will be released later this year.
The details of the plot have not yet been released, but the film is expected to reach the streaming service during 2023.
Diaz and Fox starred together in the 2014 film "Annie" - and this was actually the last time the actress appeared before the cameras.
In fact, Fox, who also starred with Diaz in the 1999 "Great Sunday" sports drama, is the one who convinced the actress to repent.
"Only you can make me go back to the action (hint for the name of the movie - DP)," Diaz told Fox on Instagram after announcing the film.
"I can not wait, it will be great," she added.
Cameron I hope you are not mad I recorded this, but no turning back now.

Fox, however, did not remain obligated, and uploaded to Twitter a recording of a conversation (apparently staged, one must admit), in which he and Diaz discuss the comeback.
When Diaz said she was very excited but "do not know how to do it," Fox brought up another veteran and famous comeback line - football star Tom Brady, who announced his retirement this year and returned a few weeks later.
Fox asked Brady to give Diaz some tips, and there the recording ended.
