A cleaning trick with vegetables promises a remedy.
Grilling could be so much fun if only it weren't for the cleaning up afterwards.
Charred remains of meat & co. can often only be removed from the grill grate with a lot of scrubbing and a special grill

Burnt-on food in the oven also regularly drives many to incandescence.
Isn't that easier?
Yes - with a food that probably everyone has in their kitchen.
Steaks, bratwurst etc. often leave residue on the grill grate that is difficult to clean.

Clean the grill grate with onions - with a simple cleaning trick
Onions
are said to be able to work wonders when cleaning the grill grate.
Simply cut open, rub off, done!
But only under one condition, otherwise the whole procedure was in vain.
That's how it's done:
Halve an onion.
Rub half an onion over the dirty grill grate.
Important: The
grillage must still be hot
.
The black encrustations can be easily removed by vigorous rubbing.
At the same time, the juice of the onion has a disinfecting effect.
You forget these spots all the time when cleaning

To avoid burning yourself during the procedure, you should definitely
wear grilling gloves
or put the onion on a long grill fork.
The grill grate is then ready for its next use.
But don't break the usual rules for barbecuing on the balcony or terrace - otherwise it can be expensive for you.
The onion taste goes well with meat, sausages and the like anyway. And you can do without harsh cleaning agents altogether.

Other home remedies also clean the grill grate naturally - such as baking powder, baking soda or cola!
It's not just when we're barbecuing that we're troubled by burned-in stains - the stains are often stubborn on the stove, too.
