She actually signed on to do a completely different version of the film - in an interview with »Vanity Fair«, actress Dakota Johnson was harsh on the film adaptation of the best-selling trilogy »Shades of Grey« and its author EL James.
"I haven't been able to ever speak truthfully about it because you want to promote a movie the right way," the actress said.
But the shooting had “just become something crazy”.
In the erotic thriller Fifty Shades, Johnson plays Anastasia Steele, a 21-year-old literature student who meets billionaire Christian Gray (Jamie Dornan), who has a secret passion for BDSM games.
Johnson and Dornan made three films together, the first directed by Sam Taylor Johnson and the other two by James Foley.
The dispute over the script was apparently the main cause of a tense situation on the set.
Johnson indicated this in an interview with the American magazine.
Author James scrapped the script after Charlie Hunnam, the actor originally slated to play Grey, dropped out.

The author already had a lot of creative control and demanded that certain things happen.
"However, there were parts in the books that just don't work in a movie, like the inner monologue, which was incredibly cheesy at times," says the actress.
It's always been a struggle.
To avoid this, footage was shot that James wanted - and then some that the crew wanted to make.
"It was a mess the whole time."
When asked if she regrets doing the film, Johnson says, "If I had known at the time it was going to be like this, I wouldn't have done it, nor would anyone else.
It would have been, 'Oh, that's psychotic.'
But no, I don't regret it."
