From September, many working people can look forward to the payment of the energy flat rate.
The Federal Ministry of Finance provides information on the details.
The energy flat rate of 300 euros for employed persons who are subject to income tax is part of the federal government's relief packages.
The traffic light coalition wants to use this to cushion the rise in energy and fuel prices.
In concrete terms, this means that every
employee
who is subject to income tax and who is classified in tax brackets 1-5 should receive the one-time lump sum of 300 euros gross.
"In most cases, the payment will be made in September," says Daniela Karbe-Gessler from the Taxpayers' Association in Berlin, according to a report by the German Press Agency (dpa).
According to the dpa, employees, trainees, civil servants, the self-employed, but also working students, students in paid internships, mini-
jobbers
or volunteer trainers are entitled to claim.
Important, the June 29 report goes on to say: Beneficiaries must live in Germany or usually reside there.
Meanwhile, pensioners who have no further employment are left empty-handed.

"The employee must confirm to the employer in writing that this is the first employment relationship," says the notification regarding the regulation for mini-jobbers, among other things.
"In the case of minor employment with flat-rate taxation according to § 40a paragraph 2 of the Income Tax Act, the employer may only pay out the EPP to his employee if there is a corresponding confirmation from the employee.
