(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 30 - "In consideration of the challenging situation" that the National Civil Protection Service will have to face in the coming months on the forest fire front, the Department - within the control room with the regions and organizations of national and territorial volunteering - in addition to drawing the attention of the Regions to the verification of the readiness and efficiency of their fire-fighting devices, it encouraged "the implementation of ties to ensure the widest availability of camp forces in the extinguishing activity".
"The civil protection volunteer trained and specialized in forest fire prevention, belonging to the regional mobile columns and to the National Organizations - explains the Department - immediately made itself available with the usual spirit of solidarity. Teams from the regions of Piedmont, Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia, as well as the mobile column of the National Alpine Association and the VAB Italia association are ready to give their support to the regions of Sicily, Calabria and Puglia ".
The first teams will be operational in Sicily as of tomorrow.
