Stiftung Warentest tested a total of 32 mineral water brands.
The majority performs well, only one variety is out of line.
For decades, people in Germany have trusted the judgment of Stiftung Warentest.
It provides a test result for almost every conceivable product: from household appliances, multimedia, insurance to food.
The foundation also regularly examines various types of mineral water that are available in Germany's supermarkets.
This year, the testers examined a total of 32 types of Classic mineral water – i.e. with sparkling water.
Most brands receive the grades "good" and "very good".
For some it is only enough for the grade "satisfactory" and one variety is even only rated as "sufficient".
You can access the test results from Stiftung Warentest over the last few years via this link.

Mineral water in the test: conclusion
You can usually get good quality mineral water in any supermarket – and it
doesn’t have to be expensive either
.
In principle,
all varieties are drinkable
and contain critical substances in quantities that are harmless to health.
Stiftung Warentest awards the bad grades when the manufacturers do not provide sufficient or completely correct information on their packaging.
The complete test results can be found on the Stiftung Warentest website (behind a payment barrier).
By the way:
In the restaurant you should always make sure that mineral water is only served from a closed bottle.
