(ANSA) - VATICAN CITY, JUN 30 - The attack by Daniel Ortega's regime in Nicaragua against the Catholic Church continues.

After the expulsion of the apostolic nuncio (the Pope's ambassador) last March, and after the threats to bishops and priests, the sisters of Mother Teresa are now also being sent away from the country.

This was announced by Monsignor Silvio José Baez, auxiliary bishop of Managua: "It saddens me very much that the dictatorship forced the Missionaries of Charity Sisters of Teresa of Calcutta to leave the country. Nothing justifies depriving the poor of the care of charity. They are a testimony of the loving service that they receive. sisters have made it. God bless you. "

For the government led by Daniel Ortega and his wife RosarioMurillo, the Missionaries of Charity, in Managua since 1986, must leave the country because they have not respected the laws on "financing terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction".

This is the justification provided by the Directorate General for the Registry and Control of Non-Profit Organizations of the Ministry of the Interior; the same motivation with which manyong were banned.

The Ministry of the Interior, in the case of the Sisters of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, adds that the religious congregation carries out activities for which it has not had authorization from part of the ministries for the family, public education and health.

The decision of the Ortega government should be ratified by Parliament.
