Ricky Martin may soon have to answer in court: A former manager of the musician has sued him for more than three million dollars in unpaid commissions, as several US media reports unanimously.
The plaintiff accordingly represented and advised the Puerto Rican singer between 2014 and 2018 and again from 2020 to 2022 - allegedly because Martin's "personal and professional life was in absolute turmoil".
The lawsuit filed in Los Angeles was published on the »Deadline« portal.
From this it emerges that the manager, according to her own statements, has supported the artist in “recording contracts, touring and sponsorship contracts and other professional ventures”, such as a North American tour with Enrique Iglesias.
He made millions of dollars with her support alone, so he owes her "significant commissions," according to the 15-page lawsuit.
The document also details an incident that allegedly took place in September 2020: According to this, Martin was faced with an allegation that could have ended his career.
It was only thanks to his manager that he managed "to get away unscathed and to continue his career advancement."
The manager also claims that Martin regularly manipulated and lied to her - which is why she finally ended her business relationship with the musician in April this year.
Martin has not yet commented on the case, leaving a request for comment from Variety magazine unanswered.
