If you want to drive east towards Berlin, you have to accept long-distance detours: on one of the most important east-west traffic axes in Germany, part of the Autobahn 2 is completely closed in one direction due to construction work.
The road surface will be renewed there over a length of about three kilometers, the construction work will be carried out in 24-hour operation without interruption.
The closure between Hanover-Ost and Peine lasts all weekend until Monday 6 p.m.
Traffic coming from the west is diverted at the Hannover-Ost junction onto the A7 southwards to the Salzgitter junction.
From there, take the A39 to the Braunschweig Süd-West triangle and then take the A391 back to the A2.
Another alternative route is recommended for truck traffic.
Trucks coming from Dortmund should take the A44 in the direction of Kassel to the Kassel-Südwest triangle, from there continue north on the A7 to the Salzgitter triangle and on the A39 to the Braunschweig-Süd-West triangle.
Then take the A391 back to the A2 in the direction of Berlin.
Driving up and down at the Hannover-Ost, Lehrte, Lehrte-Ost and Hämelerwald junctions is also not possible during the construction work.
