First departures on vacation: a Friday classified red in Ile-de-France

As announced, many Ile-de-France residents will leave the Paris region in the coming hours to go on vacation.

The first wave of vacation departures begins on Friday, a day classified red in Ile-de-France according to Bison Futé, although the school year is not over.

“This period, located outside school holidays”, which will begin this Thursday, July 7, “is affected by significant migratory flows on the main axes of the country”, indicates Bison Futé.

“These are mainly French people, not subject to school obligations, who take their holidays (…) to take advantage of less attendance, but also foreign tourists, in particular from Belgium, for whom the holidays begin this weekend. -end”, details the public road information service.

For now, everything is okay…

In Ile-de-France, traffic will thus be “dense towards the toll gates of the A 10 motorways (towards Aquitaine, NB) and A6 (towards the South, NB)”.

“In the middle of the afternoon, the combination of work-home journeys and weekend departures, numerous during this period, could make traffic very difficult until late in the evening”.

At midday, no significant slowdown had yet been reported by Bison Futé on its site.

In the direction of departures, the day of Friday is classified orange at the national level, red in Ile-de-France, that of Saturday orange at the national level.

In total, the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion expects 13 red days and one black day over this summer period.

For the return from the Ascension Bridge, at the end of May, a day classified as black at the national level, a peak of 934 km of traffic jams had been reached.
