In Hanover, a police officer is said to have a relationship with a right-wing extremist.
A few days ago, the liaison between Commissioner Anna J. and right-wing extremist Jannik R. became known.
The Ministry of the Interior has now admitted that the Hanover Police Department checked a corresponding tip a year ago.
There were no consequences at that time.
Why there was no reaction at the time should now be clarified, as reported by the »Hannoversche Allgemeine«.
"As it now turns out, the Ministry of the Interior had known for a long time that a police officer had been in contact with a proven right-wing extremist," said CDU parliamentary group leader Uwe Schünemann of the newspaper.
"The Minister of the Interior must now provide comprehensive information as quickly as possible about the extent to which he has investigated the suspicions." This also includes the precise examination of the policewoman's surroundings.

The relationship between Anna J. and Jannik R. became known through the "Research Collective Ostwestfalen", which works on the topics of neo-Nazism, racism and fascism.
J. is a commissioner at the dog squadron in Hanover
.
She is one of the “Instagram police officers” with whom her department wants to create a likeable image for the police.
The ministry has asked the Hanover police department to investigate the matter thoroughly.
According to the ministry, the Instagram account has now been blocked.
In addition, Anna J. should no longer exercise police service as a service dog handler.
The investigation of the police directorate is not yet complete.
