The square Ritter Sport chocolate in its typical design has been known for years.
But now the company has given it a new look.
Waldenbuch – A piece of chocolate can always make young and old happy.
Ritter Sport is one of the best-known manufacturers in Germany.
However, the chocolate company made negative headlines during the Ukraine war.
As one of the few companies, Ritter Sport continued its business in Russia - and received sharp criticism.

Ritter Sport: Huge change in controversial chocolate – it looks completely different on the supermarket shelf
But now the controversial chocolate manufacturer has drawn attention to itself with a major change.
Many customers in the supermarkets or discounters should notice this immediately.
In the in-house blog on the company website, Ritter Sport drew attention to its new design.
And based on the "fine whole milk" variety, showed exactly what will change.
The clearest innovation is represented by the pictures on the packaging of the "Ritter Sport Edel-Vollmilch". Here, the milk in particular comes to the fore as one of the elementary ingredients.
Instead of the view from above, as before, you are now looking at a glass of milk from the front.
That seems to be spilling over.
This is what the new design of the "Ritter Sport Edel-Vollmilch" looks like.

Ritter Sport chocolate has new packaging – the seal is intended to indicate sustainability
In addition to the focus on the milk, there is also a new seal on the Ritter Sport chocolate.
This indicates that a "100% certified sustainable cocoa supply" should have taken place during production.
However, there is no Fairtrade seal, as is the case with competitors such as Milka.
But one thing will not change for the customers of Edeka, Rewe, Aldi, Lidl and Co. when buying Ritter Sport chocolate.
The shape of the chocolate bar remains true to the company slogan "square, practical, good".
The Ritter Sport chocolate was invented in 1932 by Clara Ritter.
Since then it has acquired its characteristic square shape.
Only the packaging design and the naming have changed over the years.
From 1960 to 2019, the "Edel-Vollmilch" variety was only called "Vollmilch".
The chocolate has had its blue look since 1977.
Ritter Sport chocolate has repeatedly changed its design over the years.

New Ritter Sport packaging: Chocolate fans are divided - and make critical comments
Meanwhile, the renewed design of 2022 was received differently by chocolate fans.
In the Ritter Sport blog, some users commented on the makeover of the packaging.
Some users praised the new face of chocolate from Baden-Württemberg as having a "very nice, colorful design" or "really chic again".
But there was also clear criticism.
"Haven't you been working on paper packaging for over 2 years?
That would have been the change for 2022 and not the design.
It's a shame," noted one user.
Other comments went in a similar direction.
"It is questionable whether a new design will help the climate, that would definitely have been the right step in 2022: completely sustainable packaging," it said.
Or: “What material is the packaging made of?
That would be the main purchase criterion for me.
A packaging made exclusively of recyclable paper would be desirable and the complete renunciation of plastic.”

New packaging for Ritter Sport chocolate: "Comes across as manipulative to me"
The new look of the "Ritter Sport noble whole milk" was also questioned.
"The new packaging with a lot of milk comes across as manipulative to me," wrote one user.
"It's nice that the cocoa has a responsible origin - you read a lot about it.
But what about the origin of the milk?” asked one.
And not only in terms of design, the company does not always meet the taste of everyone.
A supposedly new variety of Ritter Sport chocolate also failed online users.
