Happy are those who do not yet know the work of Éric Poitevin, photographer of the hypersensitive gaze, of the right distance and of purity.
Born on May 5, 1961 in Longuyon (Meurthe-et-Moselle) and living in Mangiennes (Meuse), this walker slowly comes to the image that he strips of everything superfluous, like a painter who composes the essential by removing the decor.
Sylvie Ramond, Director General of the Center of Art Museums in Lyon and its Museum of Fine Arts, had the great idea of inviting this artist to draw material from his collections.
The result is sober and moving, enigmatic and crystal clear.
