It is still not clear why the regional train derailed near Garmisch-Partenkirchen - but in the meantime there are apparently further indications that damage to the route could be the cause.
The dpa news agency and Bayerischer Rundfunk report on a document from the Bundestag Transport Committee that deals with the accident.
It mentions "partly pre-damaged concrete sleepers" that could have caused a "loss of tracking".
Neither Deutsche Bahn nor the investigators of the Bavarian special commission "Zug" commented.
The Munich "TZ" had previously reported damage to the route.
Damage to the railway embankment is assumed to be the most likely cause of the accident in railway circles.
This may have caused the tracks to shift, which is why the train fell off the track.
