Vegan patties that taste like chicken or pork are nothing new.

A burger that tastes like human flesh, on the other hand, does.

Stuttgart/Cannes - A vegan lifestyle not only refers to nutrition, but also to avoiding all products with animal ingredients.

A tattoo artist from Stuttgart only tattoos vegans and an entrepreneur from São Paulo (Brazil) has even launched a dating app for vegans and vegetarians.

In the food sector, the selection of meat-free products is also growing.

Most of the products are made from soy or wheat flour, but certain spices make them taste like pork, chicken, beef or even fish.

However, at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, the world's most famous event for the international advertising industry, a burger pattie with a very questionable flavor was honored.

The vegan burger from the Swedish manufacturer "Oumph!" is said to taste like human flesh.

Many vegetarians and vegans choose such a way of life to protect animals.

However, this does not necessarily mean that they will also give up their appetite for meat.

The manufacturers of meat-free substitute products are therefore constantly working on making the purely vegan products taste more and more similar to meat products.

A former Daimler manager founded a multi-million dollar vegan company.

The Swedish company Oumph, whose products can now also be found in supermarkets in Germany, has set itself the goal of proving that the vegan alternatives can actually taste like any meat - even human meat.

For Halloween 2021, the Swedes presented a burger that is said to taste like human flesh.

What initially sounds like a very macabre Halloween prank, however, now convinced the jury of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

At the event, which took place from June 20th to 24th this year, the "Plant Based Human Meat Burger" received a Brand Experience and an Activation Lion Award.

According to the festival's website, the awards stand for "creative brands that take the customer experience to the next level".

Manufacturers give the all-clear: "No people were injured during the development of the product"

A burger patty that is supposed to taste like human flesh sounds very strange ethically.

A spokesman for Oumph!

however, stated that "no people were injured in the development of the product".

During creation, the staff did their best to ensure the pattie tasted as realistic as possible with a blend of soy, mushrooms and wheat protein.

A “mysterious spice mixture” is used for this.

However, the question that quite a few are likely to ask themselves is: How did the employees know what human flesh tastes like?

It's going to be oomph!

probably reveal just as little as the ingredients of the "mysterious spice mixture".

However, winning the two awards fills the company with pride.

“Our mission is to change how people eat,” said Henrik Åkerman, the company's global brand leader.

"And it is our duty to use creativity as a vehicle to bring about such change." Whether a burger that tastes like human flesh is really meant to change eating habits, or just a clever marketing strategy by Oumph!

is, be it a question.

Those who are interested, or rather brave people who want to try the burger themselves, will probably have a hard time.

The "Plant Based Human Meat Burger" was apparently only offered for Halloween 2021 and is not listed on the company's website either.
