The World Table Football Championships are taking place this weekend in Nantes. Eleven members of the France team met beforehand

“How do multi-table table football worlds work?

It's like going from Wimbledon to Roland Garros permanently, every two points you change tables, the first to 10 wins the round, "explains Robert Zamora, member of the French table football team, who is celebrating his first selection this week.

For this 38-year-old player, who has been with a club for 10 years, these World Cups are an opportunity to rub shoulders with the best players in the world.

Robert was accompanied by a dozen other enthusiasts of the discipline, at the home of one of the players, to train on the four tables which will be imposed during the competition: the Garlando from Switzerland and Austria, the Leonhart famous in Germany, the Tornado of the United States and the Banzini, the most widespread baby in France.

“We grew up on the Banzini.

So it is mainly on the foreign tables that we prepare”.

The techniques are different depending on the game table and the size of the ball.

To get used to it, Robert devotes between 15 and 20 hours a week to training.

“There's no money in this sport, it's just my passion.

The baby allows me to decompress, to think about other things while having fun and remaining competitive,” says the man who also works as an insurance broker.
