Where is God of War Ragnarok? Lead developer asks fans for patience

PlayStation fans were expecting an announcement of the release date of "God of War Ragnarok" this week.

Chief developer Cory Barlog now has his say.

A while ago, the developers at Santa Monica Studio guaranteed that God of War Ragnarok would be released in 2022.

Nevertheless, fans continue to fear that it could be postponed to next year.

In recent weeks, persistent rumors have been circulating that Sony will announce the release date for the highly anticipated sequel in June.

But there was no announcement and the disappointment of the "God of War" fans is great.

This prompted the game's lead developer, Cory Barlog, to send out a quick message to fans.

Barlog writes on Twitter that he would share all the information if it were up to him.

He explains: "But it's not up to me.

I promise things will be released at the earliest opportunity.

We make games for you.

We can make games thanks to you.

Industry insiders confirmed that the announcement was scheduled for June 30th

Noted games journalist Jason Schreier responded to Barlog's tweet, stating that according to his sources,

: "Regarding the rumors about God of War Ragnarok: Until recently, there was indeed one Release date announcement scheduled for Thursday, June 30, according to people familiar with the matter.

Recent tweets from Cory Barlog suggest that's no longer the case.

However, as far as I know, the game has not been postponed again."

The good news is that the release of "God of War Ragnarok" is probably still planned for 2022.

It is unclear why Sony is waiting to announce the date.

There may be a glimmer of hope that there will be new information today, June 30th - even if Cory Barlog's tweet suggests otherwise.

If you haven't been able to grab a PS5 yet, you don't have to worry.
