Such a bison looks fluffy, but is not a cuddly toy

A bison attacked a visitor in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming.
The 71-year-old and her daughter accidentally approached the animal as they were walking back to their car.
Then it attacked.
The woman was taken to the hospital, her injuries are not life-threatening.
This attack is not unique.
A bison had already attacked a man on Tuesday.
The 34-year-old was hiking with his family near the famous Old Faithful geyser.
Video footage shows the man dragging his child out of the bison's line of attack before being rammed into the air by the bison himself.
The father and child subsequently escaped.
The man was treated at the hospital for injuries to his arm.
A 25-year-old woman had already been attacked by a bison at the end of May.
She had approached the animal to within ten feet, whereupon it attacked her with lowered horns.
She was thrown three meters and sustained injuries.
Bison may look fluffy, but they are anything but oversized cuddly toys.
They are considered aggressive and attach great importance to their territory.
Game wardens warn again and again that it is better not to get too close to them - at least 23 meters distance is necessary.
Bison have injured more people than any other animal in Yellowstone National Park, they say.
In the summer of 2021, 5,450 bison were counted in two groups in Yellowstone National Park.
That's the largest amount in the wild in the US.
The national park is the only place in the United States where bison have lived consistently since pre-colonial times.
