It is considered the largest hit festival in Germany: According to the organizers, around 500,000 hit fans danced through Hamburg at the first hit move since the beginning of the corona pandemic on Saturday.
“People were really starving, there was a lot going on right from the start,” said a spokesman.
At the "Carnival of the North" a motley convoy with 47 decorated trucks drove through St. Pauli.
Schlager hits such as "Michaela", "Raspberry ice cream for breakfast" and "He has a bright red rubber boat" resounded from the rolling discos.
The hit spectacle started on Friday evening with a warm-up party.
After the caravan, an aftermove party is planned.
The cult event has been around since 1997. According to the organizers, the 23rd edition of the Schlagermove in summer 2019 counted around 350,000 visitors in Hamburg.
