Proceeding from the importance of community participation and strengthening civil work and cooperation with various sectors, the Ministry of Education signed today nine memoranda of understanding in the developmental, sports, cultural, educational and social fields.
The memoranda of understanding focused on cooperation in rehabilitating and maintaining schools, securing their supplies, compensating educational losses, supporting the return of dropout children to school, and providing forms of psychosocial support and compensatory lessons for students.
The memorandums, which were signed in the ministry building, also included support for vocational training, capacity building of educational cadres, and promotion of environmental preservation and public hygiene activities.
After the signing, the Minister of Education, Dr. Darem Tabbaa, explained in a press statement that cooperation with various civil and community agencies contributes to the success of the educational process and the promotion of the development of the educational sector in terms of supporting public and vocational education in its various stages, teaching staff and infrastructure, including schools, supplies, technologies, and others, noting the role of the local community from civil associations. And donors and their solidarity to contribute to the reconstruction.
The Director of Planning and International Cooperation in the Ministry, Ghassan Shoghari, stressed the importance of cooperation with the local community, represented by the institutions and associations duly registered in the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor in response to the growing needs in the educational sector.
