Did you get through the gas period and the 4-month-old baby crisis?

Well done, now is the time for teething pain.

The challenging period can begin as early as three months of age, but some babies have the first tooth appear only at one year of age.

Dorit Ben Meir

, a diagnostic and developmental therapist, sleep consultant and infant massage instructor, seeks to lower your worry and stress threshold and reassure: Not every baby will experience teething equally.

Some babies will suddenly notice that a tooth has erupted without any preliminary sign, but there are babies whose process will be long and tedious, they will suffer from pain and there is no chance that you will not notice it.

So what are the signs that your baby is about to erupt?

● Increased salivation

● Red and swollen gums

● Lack of appetite

● Discomfort during the day (restlessness)

● Many awakenings at night

● Putting hands in mouth for friction

How Can You Relieve Baby Teething Pain?

It is reassuring to know that you can alleviate even a little of the suffering that your baby is going through and here are a few methods:

Teethers - Prefer bites that can be put in the freezer or refrigerator and when they are cold enough to serve them to the baby.

The cold freezes the pain.

Massage - Massage the mouth and gums area.

A silicone thimble can be used inside the mouth, while the massage relieves pain.

Of course, if the baby signals that it is unpleasant for him - do not insist.

Painkillers - There are many types of painkillers on the market, whether in the form of drops or a soothing gel.

It is recommended that you consult a physician before use and use sedatives in the appropriate manner and dosage.

Food - If our baby has started eating solid food, more cold foods can be given.

The Bride - At the end of the day, it is very worthwhile to understand that this is part of the developmental process that your baby is going through.

Try to stay calm and be more flexible in these moments.

Allow for more hands, give warm hugs and lots of touch, be patient about multiple awakenings and of course always make sure to respond to crying.

The Jama app was established with the aim of addressing mothers of babies from birth to age three, and centralizing for them content, activities, tips from experts and videos that will accompany them throughout this challenging period.

All the content in the app "grows" together with the baby and is precisely adapted to its developmental stages, so that the mothers receive only what is relevant to them and interests them at any given moment.

The Jama app is the place for mothers in Israel to meet and get to know other mothers around them, and create new and exciting friendships in the fascinating journey.
