(ANSA) - VATICAN CITY, 03 JUL - "The Ukrainian crisis should have been, but if you want it can still become, a challenge for wise statesmen capable of building a better world in dialogue for the new generations".
The Pope said this at the Angelus.
"With God's help this is always possible but we must pass from the strategies of political, economic and military power to a project of global peace. No to a world divided between conflicting powers, yes to a united world between peoples and civilizations that respect each other", the Pope stressed.
"We continue to pray for peace in Ukraine and in the whole world. I appeal to the leaders of nations and international organizations to react to the tendency to accentuate conflict and opposition. The world needs peace: not a peace based on the balance of armaments, on fear reciprocal, no, this is not right. This is to make history go back seventy years ", added Pope Francis.
