The disturbance of the sense of smell (parosmia) is not only the result of a corona infection for some people.

Parkinson's disease is also associated with a loss of smell.

Munich – Sudden smell and taste disorders are now considered to be one of the best-known symptoms of a corona infection.

In up to 20 percent of those affected, these can last for months or longer, and some people suffer from the disorder indefinitely or even a loss of their ability to smell and taste.

What is a side effect of Corona can also be an early symptom of a neurological disease such as Parkinson's.

24vita.de tells you which smell training you can do at home.

A very simple smell test at home can give you an early and yet decisive indication of whether you are showing deficits in your sense of smell and possibly even the first signs of Parkinson's disease.

Everything you need for this can probably be found in your spice cupboard in the kitchen.
