"I would have married her a second time": this memory as a declaration of love from Nicolas Sarkozy to Carla Bruni

The former President of the Republic and his wife were very accomplices on Friday July 1 on the set of the “Grand Échiquier” on France 3.


Confidences with an open heart on the set of the "Grand Échiquier" Friday evening on France 3. For the last program of the season, Claire Chazal invited the former President of the Republic Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife Carla Bruni in a program devoted to the radiation of French culture.

The former presidential couple were among the guests of the famous program founded by Jacques Chancel, alongside singer Marc Lavoine, actress Elsa Zylberstein, violinist Renaud Capuçon, director of the Louvre Laurence des Cars and even the star dancer of the Paris Opera François Alu.

Speaking throughout the show, the former head of state was particularly attentive to his wife, sometimes showing an unexpected romanticism, and thus revealing an unknown facet of his personality.

He mentioned in particular in a sequence the memory of their first official trip together.

When the president and the first lady travel to London in 2008, they meet the royal couple formed by Queen Elizabeth II and Duke Philip of Edinburgh.
