She thus maintained in her 43-page request, submitted the previous week to the court, that the evidence put forward by her former husband “did not hold water”.
According to her, Johnny Depp only defended "the idea of implicit defamation".
He also ended up "dropping any theory that Ms. Heard's statements were actually false."
The actress' lawyers also pointed out that juror number 15 in the trial had potentially been selected illegally because he allegedly lied about his date of birth (1945 instead of 1970).
"This discrepancy raises the question of whether Juror 15 actually received a subpoena and was duly approved by the court to serve on the jury," the attorneys argued in the document.

'No evidence' of monetary damages
Johnny Depp has also failed to prove that Amber Heard's column in the
Washington Post,
at the origin of this lawsuit, had impacted his career, the lawyers said.
"Mr.
Depp has presented no evidence of monetary damages suffered during the period from December 18, 2018 to November 2, 2020 as a result of the editorial,” the documents read.
They also argued that Johnny Depp failed to refute the abuse allegations made by Amber Heard.
"Mr.
Depp was required to establish, at the time the op-ed was published, that Ms Heard had lied about being abused or had doubts about it, they continued.
But Mr. Depp presented no evidence on this point.
Before concluding: “Therefore, Mr. Depp did not meet the legal requirements to prove actual malice, and the verdict should be set aside.”
To which Ben Chew, Johnny Depp's lawyer, replied that Amber Heard's request was "what they expected, just longer, and with more substance".
Despite everything, Amber Heard said in an interview on the “Today Show”, broadcast on June 17, that she “still loved” her former husband.
