Various goods are repeatedly affected by global delivery bottlenecks.
Now cigarettes could be scarce.
Kassel – The Ukraine conflict has been leading to delivery bottlenecks in Germany for weeks.
At Aldi, Rewe and Co., foods such as sunflower oil and mustard are always in short supply.
There is currently a risk of honey shortages at Edeka, Lidl and Co. Now experts are warning of supply bottlenecks in another industry: the tobacco industry.
Because an important wholesaler apparently has delivery problems with cigarettes.
In some places, smokers cannot buy their usual brand of cigarettes.
Tobacco companies are complaining about delivery bottlenecks these days.
As a result, fewer goods were sold than were ordered.
The already bad situation has recently deteriorated significantly, said the sales manager of the tobacco wholesaler Dietz, Cyryl Ratz, the
German Press Agency

The wholesaler Lekkerland is clearly feeling the effects of the cigarette bottlenecks for the Marlboro brand.
The company supplies gas stations, kiosks and shops throughout Germany.
There are "delivery problems for individual packaging units from the manufacturer Philip Morris," the company said.
Cigarette shortage: tense situation on commodity markets
A spokeswoman for Philip Morris said that there was a shortage of several product variants "due to the continued tight situation in the commodity markets".
However, the company can offer consumers alternative product sizes.
We are constantly working on solutions.
The spokeswoman could not say when the cigarette bottleneck would be resolved.
The competitor British American Tobacco (BAT) said that there could be “delays” in the past few weeks in the supply of trade regionally.
"Together with the logistics company, we are working flat out to return to the delivery reliability we are used to as quickly as possible," the company said.
There were no production-related failures.
