This was stated by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, in a message sent to the President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, for the 4th of July.
"I trust that Washington and Rome will continue to strengthen the partnership that animates our joint efforts, also in all multilateral fora and in the context of relations between the United States and the European Union. In this way we will be able to operate with ever greater effectiveness in support of the affirmation of common values, as well as of a sustainable and inclusive path of economic development and social progress which, in the current economic situation, also requires particular attention to the global aspects of energy and food security.
