The secret of simplicity.

The most delicious chicken and potato pot there is (Photo: Walla !, Ayala Jenny)

What does a person need altogether?

Chicken, potatoes and a minimum of work.

This is one of the fastest and simplest pots I have learned to make from my mom.

She used to make it for us as a child and I still make it when I am short on time, but do not want to give up a hot and tasty meal at home.

Put everything together in one pot without frying before and without browning.

Let the chicken and potatoes cook slowly with the spices, until you get a hot stew with the smell of house, chicken falling off the bone, soft and fluffy potatoes and a thick sauce that is fun to dip the bread in.

Need nothing more than that.

If you really want to indulge, some fresh vegetables are cut nearby and you have a meal to glory.

Preparation

How to make a pot of chicken and potatoes?

  • 1 In a large, large pot, place the diced potatoes.

Sprinkle the pepper strips on top and the chicken pieces on top.

  • 2 Sprinkle the spices over everything, pour the oil and add water only to the height of the chicken (do not cover the chicken with water but only until the water touches the chicken).

  • Bring the contents of the pot to a boil, cover and cook over medium heat until the chicken is tender and a maddening odor is dissipated in the house.

  • 4 Remove the lid and cook for another 10 minutes without covering until the liquids are slightly reduced and the sauce thickens.
