Food, energy and rent prices are rising.
Nationwide, prices are exploding for citizens who cannot defend themselves against these price jumps.
Cities and municipalities now also want to significantly increase the fee for resident parking.
Munich ‒ Now even the last joker should be choking on his laughter.
Because although the state is trying to relieve citizens on the one hand with bonus services from the 2022 relief package, municipalities and cities are turning the price screws on the other.
Resident parking is now set to become significantly more expensive in many cities.
And that with over 1000 percent.
In Berlin, citizens will be asked to pay EUR 120 annually for resident parking from next year instead of EUR 10.20.
Depending on the parking zone, instead of 1.20 or 3 euros, 2.30 or 4 euros per hour or part thereof will be charged.
This was the result of a survey by the
Bild newspaper
.
In Freiburg, a resident parking permit has cost 360 euros per year since April - previously 30 euros were due.
In Tübingen, 180 euros or 120 euros will be charged - depending on how heavy the vehicle is.

Even in the north of the country, in Hamburg, the citizens are already reaching deeper into their pockets.
Here he has been paying 64 euros since the beginning of the year - previously it was 45 euros a year.
Resident parking: Federal states can now adjust the fees for parking
Germany had cleared the way for increases in July last year by regulation for the municipalities.
This was made possible by a change in the law at federal level, the Road Traffic Act.
Previously, fees for resident parking permits were capped at 30.70 euros.
That no longer applies.
The federal states now have the opportunity to adjust their fee schedule for parking.
A step that Helmut Dedy, General Manager of the German Association of Cities, has long considered superfluous.
"Cities can then increase resident parking to more than 300 euros a year," Dedy told

.
Several cities took advantage of the new opportunity to collect more money - for example Karlsruhe, Heidelberg, Ulm and Freiburg.
Resident parking: urban space too valuable to be just a parking lot or street
Cars that are getting bigger and bigger every year and the number of registrations that is increasing every year overwhelms urban traffic, says Helmut Dedy.
“Traffic jams, exhaust fumes and noise reduce the quality of life in cities.
Urban space is far too valuable to just be a parking lot or a street,” said the chief executive of the German Association of Cities.
According to Dedy on
Faz.net
, the previous administrative effort and the signage for resident parking could hardly be counter-financed by parking permits .

The German Environmental Aid had previously asked the federal states and municipalities to raise the costs for parking permits.
Every year the number of newly registered cars in Germany increases by half a million.
At the same time, cars are getting longer, wider and heavier.
Residents have little option to ward off these charges.
Either you pay or you rent a private parking space for your car.
Given the scarcity of garages and parking spaces, this is likely to be expensive in the future.
