An exceptional design, an ultra-thin movement, a steel bracelet… There are many reasons that have propelled the Royal Oak to the rank of timeless icon.
On the occasion of the latter's 50th anniversary, Audemars Piguet celebrates its innovative and timeless character.
To illustrate the idea of eternal youth, director David Tomaszewski – to whom we owe many clips, including "The Smell of Gasoline" by Orelsan, recently released – boldly stages the actor Vincent Cassel, a Royal Oak on his wrist.
Deep Fake by Vincent Cassel Audemars Piguet
An unprecedented experience
Thanks to deepfake technology, David Tomaszewski films the actor facing a version of himself straight out of the 1990s, surrounded by 8 screens forming an octagon, in homage to the bezel of the Royal Oak.
Infusing his surrealist, creative and very contemporary vision, he brings these two figures into dialogue during an unprecedented experience, carried by the presence of Vincent Cassel and by a delicate play of shadow and light.
Vincent Cassel Audemars Piguet
An iconic figure, the actor evokes his career, his choices, but also the fact of aging while remaining young in spirit, like the Royal Oak.
He talks about his travels from Paris to New York via Rio, cinema and his career.
He also warns his double against the excesses of technology and the time sometimes wasted in immersing oneself in the virtual to the detriment of real life.
Finally, he confides in encounters, friendships and family, which he considers to be the keys to his success.
"You've managed, for the moment, to keep yourself relatively balanced!"
concludes Vincent Cassel with the nonchalance and humor that characterizes him
.
Timeless
This exchange echoes the Royal Oak, an icon that has survived the ages while remaining current, thanks among other things to exceptional materials and a multi-faceted design.
Vincent Cassel, in the same way, has evolved over the years, turning in turn into an actor, producer or citizen committed to the protection of the Amazon rainforest.
A man who knew how to reinvent himself to be in harmony with himself and who has become an iconic figure on whom time seems to have no hold.
