Singer Adele (34) recently shared in an interview with the BBC's British radio show 'Desert Island Discs'
that it bothers her that quite a few of her fans have expressed disappointment at the drastic weight loss (having shed more than 45 pounds in the last two years, and has since shown a shapely figure).

The British singer has always been considered a model of beauty and female empowerment, and has often insisted that she does not lose weight just to conform to the rigid beauty ideal expected of women in general and the entertainment industry in particular.
According to her, as mentioned, many accused her of actual betrayal.
"I understand why the media was so fascinated by my upheaval. I did not share the process I went through as everyone else does," she teased her colleagues who take care to document their entire lives on social media more than once for considerable sums of money.
"Most people would have already put out a DVD about it by this time," she added.

"I have no regrets," she declared emphatically.
"I did it quietly and for myself," she nevertheless sought to explain what she went through as part of the change in her life that came in parallel with her divorce from her husband Simon Conkey.
"I felt terrible for those people whose other people's comments made them feel that they did not look good and were not beautiful," she admitted.
"Some people accepted it in a negative way. There were also some who felt a real betrayal," she said.
"They came in with a 'she succumbed to stress' approach, but it didn't really bother me, because I told myself that these people are not the ones holding my hand at night at four in the morning when I break down in heartbreaking cries from anxiety and need distraction. 100% of the exercise I did provided me "Focus. It gave me a channel to release my energy, good or bad, and it made me feel like I was mentally strengthened through being physically strengthened."
