(ANSA) - ROME, JULY 05 - The President of the Senate, Elisabetta Casellati, is today in Algeria to participate as a representative of the Head of State in the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the independence of the Democratic and People's Republic of Algeria.
'"My presence was intended to underline the deep bonds of friendship and collaboration between our two countries", said President Casellati.
"I was very impressed by the warm welcome of President Tebboune who, in recalling the recent state visit to Italy, underlined how Italy and Algeria are one big country", adds President Casellati, who concludes, on the sidelines of the visit "Moreover, Italy and Algeria can do a lot together for the political and economic stability of the Mediterranean ".
