Draghi: 'Italy and Turkey partners, friends and allies'

The intergornative summit between Italy and Turkey "indicates the common will to strengthen collaboration: Italy and Turkey are partners, friends allies"

, said Prime Minister Mario Draghi at the end of the meeting, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Italy and Turkey have signed 9 agreements to "strengthen cooperation".

This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during the joint press conference with Prime Minister Mario Draghi after the third Italy-Turkey intergovernmental summit which was held today in Ankara.

The Turkish president has made it known that the goal for this year is to reach an economic exchange of 25 billion dollars.

"There is a common will to strengthen the partnership between Italy and Turkey, the two countries work together for a stable and lasting peace", said Mario Draghi

during the press conference at the end of the summit with Erdogan.

Draghi also called for a rapid unblocking of the transport of foodstuffs.

Among other things, the premier recalled the historical ties between Italy and Turkey, the first commercial partner in the Middle East area.

Erdogan offered Prime Minister Draghi his condolences for the deceased from the Marmolada
