According to an insider, Rockstar Games is not planning any remastered versions of "Red Dead Redemption" and "GTA 4".

The last "GTA" remasters are to blame.

Rockstar Games is under pressure from gamers.

Players are already waiting impatiently for new information about "GTA 6".

So far, the developers have only confirmed that a new "Grand Theft Auto" is in the works.

There are currently no details about the game - neither the official title nor an approximate release date have been set yet.

Rockstar Games could smooth things over a bit by releasing remastered versions of old popular titles, for example.

Rumors about new editions of "Red Dead Redemption" and "GTA 4" have been circulating for a long time.

However, a well-known insider has bad news for fans of these games.

"Red Dead Redemption" and "GTA 4": Remaster plans probably discarded

The insider is the Twitter user "Tez2", who is considered a reliable source for all sorts of information about Rockstar Games.

He tweeted, "According to a reliable source with accurate information on Rockstar's plans, GTA IV and RDR1 remasters were discussed a few years ago,

but Rockstar decided not to pursue the projects

.”

According to Tez2, one of the reasons for this decision could have been the poor response to Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition.

This included revised versions of "GTA 3", "GTA: Vice City" and "GTA: San Andreas".

However, the porting was not successful.

The games offered no real improvements graphically and also had a number of bugs to show for themselves.

It was said last year that Rockstar Games is considering remaster versions of Red Dead Redemption and other titles if the GTA Trilogy is well received.

Will at least the "Red Dead Redemption 2" next-gen upgrade appear?

"Red Dead Redemption 2" still looks great on the old consoles - but a remaster could provide a higher frame rate, among other things.

It seems Rockstar is now deciding not to bother with remasters at all.

But then the question arises as to what the studio is doing so that fans can bridge the waiting time for "GTA 6".

Recently, several industry experts suspected that "GTA 6" will not appear before 2024 or 2025.

Therefore, Rockstar fans are likely to face a long dry spell in the coming years

.

It is possible that a next-gen version of "Red Dead Redemption 2" will be released for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S - but this has not yet been officially confirmed.

Rockstar recently released a next-gen version of GTA 5 in March.
