The police took action against human smugglers on Tuesday morning.
Hundreds of forces from the federal police and the Lower Saxony police, in particular from the Osnabrück police headquarters, as well as the state police from North Rhine-Westphalia, Bremen and Baden-Württemberg are on duty.
The officials searched numerous buildings and arrested people in several federal states, the police said.
The concentrated police and judicial action is coordinated by Eurojust and Europol.
A first interim conclusion on the results will be given in the course of the day.
