“Imagine the emotional shock of having your period at such a young age, especially if you're unprepared.
I want to avoid this kind of inconvenience for little girls, ”explains Barbara Caillibotte, representative of parents of students in the 15th arrondissement and mother of a 10-year-old girl who is menstruating.
The 30-year-old fights for the taboo of menstruation in little girls to be lifted and for them to be taken care of.
Her daughter Morgane, in CM2, had her first period at the end of last summer.
“Her greatest anxiety was that her period arrived during school time and that she did not know who to contact,” sums up the mother.
Barbara Caillibotte also explains her daughter's fear of not having access to periodic protection in her school bag.
“You should also know that in primary schools, it's a recurring problem, there aren't necessarily trash cans in the toilets.
The toilet can be in the yard, so imagine the little girl walking around the yard with her period protection.

Barbara sent several letters to alert on the situation.
She says she wrote to Brigitte Macron, to her town hall, to Olivier Véran, then Minister of Health and to the regional prefecture, but in vain.
For its part, the City of Paris recalls having equipped the 114 public colleges in the capital with distributors of periodic protection.
“Regarding primary schools, we do not yet have distributors given the few girls settled on this age group, but we are vigilant and we look at all situations on a case-by-case basis if special support is needed”.
Barbara let us know that a brand contacted her to distribute period panties at her daughter's elementary school.
The director of the primary school in which her daughter is educated, meanwhile, indicated that she had made a request to the town hall of Paris in order to obtain individual trash cans in the toilets.
