Pasta with chicken in pesto sauce (Photo: Alon Mesika)
After pairing a baked potato and bolognese sauce, Orly Plai makes another simple and delicious connection between pesto pesto and chicken breast.
A light and fun dish that matches two foods that the children also really like.
If you are really in a hurry, you can use quality ready-made pesto, but the truth is that making homemade pesto requires less work than making tomato sauce for pasta for example, and there is no problem making a large quantity and keeping in a jar in the fridge (most delicious to spread on bread with cheese) or even freeze.
The chicken fillet in the recipe is a small, narrow, long piece of juicy meat located near the breastbone.
It can be purchased separately from the chicken play at almost any butcher shop or retail chains.
If not found, it can be replaced with strips of chicken breast.

Preparation
How to make pesto pasta with chicken?
1
Start preparing the pesto
- separate the basil leaves from the stems.
Grind in a food processor or a mortar and pestle the leaves with pine nuts, garlic and lemon peel.
Gradually add the oil until it is absorbed.
Salt and pepper.
2 Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta.
At the same time, cut each chicken fillet into two pieces.
Heat a pan with olive oil and sauté the chicken pieces until they change color.
Turn off the heat, add 2 heaping tablespoons of pesto and stir.
4 Drain the pasta from the cooking water and save a small amount of liquid.
Combine the pasta and the chicken with the pesto.
Add a little of the cooking liquid of the pasta we have saved and mix until combined.
If you want, you can add more pesto to your personal taste.
