There are 107,786 new infections from Covid recorded in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Ministry of Health.

On Tuesday 5 July 2022, 132,274 were infected.

The victims are 72, down from 94 on Tuesday.

A total of 380,035 swabs were performed, including antigenic and molecular, with the positivity rate of 28.4%, the same percentage as on Tuesday.

325 patients are admitted to intensive care, two more than on Wednesday

.

The daily admissions are 43. The hospitalized in the ordinary wards are 8,220 yesterday, 217 more than Tuesday.

Coronavirus positive Italians are currently 1,146,034, continuously growing in recent days.

The data from the Ministry of Health always show this.

In total, 19,048,788 people have been infected since the beginning of the pandemic, while the deaths rise to 168,770.

The discharged and healed are 17,733,984, with an increase of 51,183

The number of patients hospitalized due to Covid has

increased by 19% in one week

, both in ordinary wards and in intensive care and the greatest increase is found in hospitalizations

'For Covid'

, or in hospitalizations with respiratory syndromes typical of the disease, which in

7 days was 24.5%

.

The number of hospitalized '

With Covid'

, that is, those patients who arrived in hospital to treat other diseases and found positive for pre-admission swabs

, increased less, or by

13.7% .

This is indicated by the survey of 5 July conducted through the

sentinel hospitals of the Federation of health and hospital companies (Fiaso)

.

In particular, hospitalizations in ordinary wards recorded an increase of 15% while in intensive care in sentinel hospitals, albeit with still relatively low numbers, there is a doubling of the number of beds occupied.

In resuscitations, in particular, a no vax rate of 19% persists;

among the vaccinated, on the other hand, 80% of those present appear to have had the vaccine for over 4 months.

"For the first time in months, we see a

reversal of the trend: patients with Covid (52%) are once again more numerous than those with Covid (48%)"

, observes the president of Fiaso,

Giovanni Migliore

.

In particular, pediatric hospitalizations due to Covid-19 double in one week and

children between 0 and 4 years old end up in hospital, which represent 78% of small hospitalized patients.

From the monitoring of the four pediatric hospitals and pediatric wards belonging to the sentinel network of structures, an

84% increase in patients under the age of 18

emerges : from

51 hospitalized

on 28 June to

94

on 5 July.

"The great contagiousness of this variant - explains the president of Fiaso,

Giovanni Migliore

- it also affects children, who are not exempt from developing Covid disease as shown by the growing data in pediatric hospitals and pediatric wards.

More attention must be paid to infants and children "." These data - comments

Alberto Villani,

head of General Pediatrics and Infectious Diseases of the Bambino Gesù Hospital - confirm that the increase in the circulation of the virus involves the developmental age in a manner and characteristics comparable to those of the general population: increase in contagiousness and in the number of infected with symptoms and consequent increase in hospital admissions ".

INCREASE IN ADMISSIONS FOR RESPIRATORY DISEASES

There is a 'significant' increase in cases of hospitalization for respiratory problems linked to Covid-19.

This is indicated by the survey of 5 July conducted through the sentinel hospitals belonging to the network of the Federation of health and hospital companies (Fiaso).

"Patients who have a specific Covid disease with respiratory syndromes are once again growing significantly", observes the president of Fiaso, Giovanni Migliore.

The widespread circulation of the virus, says Migliore, "forces us to reorganize our hospitals, reopening the departments dedicated to respiratory and ventilatory assistance,"
