For the third day in a row, at the Al-Assad National Library in Damascus, the work of the fourth conference for Syrian researchers at home and abroad for 2022, organized by the Supreme Commission for Scientific Research in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, the Syrian Virtual University and the Arab School for Science and Technology, continued under the title “Towards a knowledge economy… the role of Syrian researchers in Homeland and expatriate.

During the last session of the conference, the participants reviewed a set of studies and research on knowledge and its role in strengthening the national economy, in addition to the presentations of companies and the private sector.

Dr. Alaa Al-Din Al-Shamri gave an online presentation from Germany entitled “Strengthening the national economy through financing scientific projects and how to obtain the necessary funding from scientific research funding institutions from abroad.” Dr. Mamoun Taher from Sweden gave a presentation on entrepreneurship and its role in building a modern knowledge-based economy .

From China, Dr. Muhammad Ismail Al-Hussam spoke about the role of the unified health record and its impact on the Syrian health sector, while Dr. Muhammad Muhammad Salih Juma from the United Arab Emirates praised the role and impact of digitization on the efficiency of bank employees.

In turn, Dr. Uday Sultan, a researcher in the knowledge economy, presented a research paper that included a proposed implementation mechanism as an introduction to the knowledge-based economy in Syria, and indicated that the knowledge-based economy is the best solution to get rid of the prevailing state of the Syrian economy and lift the massive damage caused by the war in terms of development.

The work of the conference was launched yesterday with the aim of creating effective research and applied partnerships between researchers at home and abroad, and the transfer and settlement of advanced technology and intellectual property policies in Syria.
