Q1 22: Can Xbox and PlayStation players play together?

Sports games are great for multiplayer.
Can F1 22 players also cross-race between Xbox and PlayStation?
The premier class of racing also started the virtual season in July.
In F1 22, players can once again put their driving skills to the test on the world's most famous racetracks.
With the right equipment, with a steering wheel and this year for the first time with VR glasses, it's a lot of fun.
But not every innovation in “F1 22” is well received.
A big point of criticism is the cross-platform play with friends – because that is currently not possible at all.

It is currently not possible for PlayStation and Xbox users to race side by side with “F1 22”.

Somewhere it is still understandable that cross-platform play between PlayStation and Xbox users is not possible.
This is still the case with most titles and also with "F1 22".
What is surprising, however, is that there are even limitations if you want to play on the same platform.
Because PC players can only play together if they start the game via the same launcher - i.e.
Steam or Origin

However, crossplay will be added at a later date.
That explains Lee Mather from the development studio Codemasters.
The implementation of the feature would only take a little longer than expected and therefore only come after the release.
The catch:
Steam and Origin users will still not be able to play together

Crossplay will probably only be available for Xbox and PlayStation players.
When that will be the case is currently not certain.
If you want to race together with friends on the PC, you have to agree beforehand whether you will buy the game via Origin or Steam.
