The unconstitutional symbol was so large that it was easily recognizable from the air: a swastika was emblazoned in a field in the Barnim district – until the police mowed it down.

A swastika measuring around 360 square meters was discovered on Tuesday evening in a field in Niederfinow in the Brandenburg district of Barnim.

As the police announced on Wednesday, the forbidden symbol had been mowed into the field and was only visible from the air.

The police became aware of the swastika through aerial photos on social media.

This was followed by a police helicopter operation over the area.

The "Bild" newspaper (online) reported first.

Both the owner of the field and the responsible mower have been located in the meantime, according to the police.

The symbol was immediately removed from the field with mowing work.

The police have started the investigation and have filed a complaint about the use of unconstitutional symbols.
